Operator Name: Newry & Mourne Community Transport Newry and Mourne Community Transport provides services to those living in the rural areas of Newry & Mourne District Council Area including the following electoral wards:
South Armagh
Bessbrook, Camlough, Creggan, Crossmaglen, Derrymore, Fathom, Forkhill, Newtownhamilton, Silverbridge and Tullyhappy.
South Down
Annalong, Binnian, Burren & Kilbroney, Clonallan, Derryleckagh, Donaghmore, Kilkeel, Lisnacree, Mayobridge, Rostrevor, Seaview and Spelga.
Group Hire for larger group members:
Since 2005 we have provided transport services to larger groups (groups whose membership is greater than 16 or where the number of members planning a trip exceeds 16) through our Voucher Scheme. Our voucher scheme has subsidised trips where the transport is provided by private operators who participate in our Scheme and who are included on our Select List of Transport Providers. Vouchers are issued quarterly – January, April, September and December and cover 75% of the cost of approved trips subject to a maximum of £300 per quarter. Priority is given to groups whose memberships are elderly or where people have a disability either physical or non-physical.
Group Hire for smaller group members
We now have two minibuses which have the capacity to carry up to 15 members each. Alternatively we can transport 3 wheelchair users plus 10 other members. Our two drivers, Collie McGuigan and Jim Rutter are keen to provide services to as many members as possible so don’t delay phone Ciaran or Eamon today and request a Membership Application Form. Both our vehicles are fully accessible with wheelchair/passenger lifts fitted. Our minibuses can be booked on a ‘without driver’ basis where the group provides their own MiDAS trained driver who will be included on our NMCT List of Approved Drivers. We provide the MiDAS training and drivers must be aged 25 years and over and must have a full D1 category licence.
Door to Door Transport
We can now provide door to door transport services to members living in the rural areas of Newry and Mourne and who find it difficult using mainstream public transport or where public transport is not available. Our door to door service can take you to your work, shopping, hairdresser, bank, doctor, visiting family or friends etc. Services are available to members only and application forms and terms and conditions are now available.
