Operator Name: Down Community Transport MEMBERSHIP YEAR AND FEES
The membership year will run from 1st April until 31st March annually. Membership is free.
PRICES FROM 1ST APRIL 2008
The following price structures are effective from 1st April 2008:
a) Individual Dial-A-Lift (Door-to-Door) and shopping/travel club trips: Prices will be based upon mileage zones and the cost for each passenger will depend upon the distance travelled.
# There are 2 categories of service : One-to-One and Many-to-One.

b) Groups: Minibus with driver for each full hour: £14.60 - if travelling outside of NI the price will be £15.80 per hour. Large bus (if available) £22.00 per hour.
c) Group “Self Drive Minibus” using your own volunteer driver * : £9.60 per hour. (* NB: Volunteer drivers must be MiDAS trained and on the DCT list of approved drivers (the list). Driving licence and MiDAS certificate must be produced for inspection at 6 monthly intervals to remain on the list. See the "Volunteering" section for details on MiDAS Training).
NB: Groups travelling are responsible for the payment of parking fees, tolls, entry fees, etc.
BOOKINGS - INDIVIDUALS (DIAL-A-LIFT)
Bookings taken up to 4.30 pm on the working day before travel.
BOOKINGS - GROUPS
Our drivers are given a weekly schedule outlining their work for the week starting on the Monday through to the following Sunday. They work flexible hours, therefore when not scheduled for work their time is their own to do with as they wish.
The schedules are rough planned on Thursday and then confirmed and produced each Friday (or last working day if there is a bank holiday in the week) – therefore we require bookings to be confirmed by the end of day Thursday the week before.
Once we have issued the drivers schedule we are committed to paying their wages in line with that, therefore late cancellations will incure a charge.
Late booking requests received after the schedules have been issued will need to be agreed with a driver before they can be accepted and confirmed.
Bookings made over the phone are provisional and dependant upon receipt of a completed and signed booking form before they are confirmed. Provisional bookings that are not followed up with a booking form will not be scheduled.

VEHICLES
We have the following vehicles:
2 x 16 seater with ramp - suitable for wheelchair passengers
3 x 16 seater with electric tail lift - suitable for wheelchair passengers
2 x 16 seater
2 x 14 seater with electric tail lift - suitable for wheelchair passengers
1 x 12 seater with electric wedge ramp - suitable for wheelchair passengers
NB: if wheelchairs are carried some seats are removed to make space for the wheelchair and occupant to be secured.
In addition we have brokerage arrangements with other community groups who own their own vehicles, where we manage and operate those vehicles on their behalf and are therefore able to use them for the good of the wider community when the owner is not using them. They are:

1 x 8 seater (MPV)
1 x 26 seater coach
(Seat numbers given above are the number of seats available for passengers, and exclude the driver seat).
If members who use our vehicles are planning to carry luggage, sports equipment, or any other such items - they will need to be secured in such a manner that they do not obstruct the gangways to the 2 emergency exits. This may mean reducing the number of passengers to compensate.
The availability of the 26 seater coach will depend upon a driver with the appropriate driving licence category ('D' PSV) being available, and the coach being free.
We may use private hire/taxi operators and private coach/bus operators to assist us with providing the services, if required. |
