Who is North Coast Community Transport?
North Coast Community Transport was established in 2000 to provide affordable, accessible transport to groups and individuals living in rural areas of the Limavady Borough.
Since moving to our new premises in April 2006 we have increased our group membership to approx. 150 groups and we have also enrolled approx. 350 individual members during the same period.
We operate with 4 x 16 seated wheelchair accessible minibuses. In addition to these vehicles we have access to larger brokered vehicles when required to cater for larger groups.
What transport services are available?
North Coast Community Transport provides a range of service options tailored to suit individual and group travel requirements:
- For individuals there are Dial a Lift and Social Car schemes providing door to door travel, either in NCCT minibuses or by car with vetted volunteers.
- For groups, our 16 seater minibuses are available for hire either with an NCCT driver or on a hire without driver. Please note that all drivers must hold a valid Midas certificate and be registered with North Coast Community Transport.
How to access NCCT services:
In order to use NCCT you will need to register as a member. Joining NCCT is easy – just contact the office and our staff will be happy to talk you through the registration process. Membership to NCCT is free for both individuals and for groups.
Once you have signed up as a member, simply contact the office to book your transport giving as much notice as possible. We will do our very best to have a vehicle available for you.
How much does it cost to travel?
Members with valid Smart Passes can travel for free or half fare on Dial a Lift services through the Assisted Rural Travel pilot in operation until March 2011. Other services – for individuals and groups – are priced affordably.
Training:
NCCT had two qualified trainers who provide a number of driver-related training courses, including;
