Who is Easilift Community Transport?

Easilift Community Transport is a company limited by guarantee, is a registered charity and is registered for VAT. The Board of Directors of Easilift is elected from Group and Individual members and local stakeholders. The Board is responsible for all policy decisions and employs a manager to oversee the day to day operations of the Partnership.

Easilift operates five 16 seat accessible minibuses in the Strabane District and three 16 seat accessible minibuses in the rural Derry City Council area. Transport services are provided for Individual Members living in rural areas with the specific aim of reducing social exclusion and isolation. Group Membership is also available to all non-profit making groups within the Operational Area.

Our core business is delivering Rural Transport Fund services funded by the Department for Regional Development.

What transport services are available?

Easilift Community Transport provides a range of service options tailored to suit individual and group travel requirements:

  • For individuals there are the Dial a Lift and Social Car schemes providing door to door travel, either in Easilift minibuses or by car with vetted volunteers.
  • For groups, our 16 seater minibuses are available for hire either with an Easilift driver or on a hire without driver. Please note that all drivers must hold a valid Midas certificate and be registered with Easilift Community Transport.

How to access Easilift Community Transport services:

In order to use Easilift you will need to register as a member. Joining Easilift is easy – just contact the office and our staff will be happy to talk you through the registration process. Membership to Easilift is £20 per annum for groups and £5 per annum for individuals.

Once you have signed up as a member, simply contact the office to book your transport giving as much notice as possible. We will do our very best to have a vehicle available for you.

How much does it cost to travel?

Members with valid Smart Passes can travel for free or half fare on Dial a Lift services through the Assisted Rural Travel Scheme pilot in operation until March 2011. Other services – for individuals and groups – are priced affordably.

A number of driver-related training courses are delivered by our trading arm, Easilift Enterprises and over the last 2 years the organisation has invested a lot of time and resources in developing its range of training programmes, including;

  • Midas Driver
  • Passenger Assistance
  • Manual Handling
  • Midas Car & MPV
  • Five Steps to Safety (Fire Evacuation)
  • CPC training
